Through the landscapes of Verdaguer’s poem, the high Noguera Pallaresa, from Alós to Pla de Beret

We will go through some of the landscapes, bathed by the river Noguera Pallaresa, that inspired the great Catalan poet Jacint Verdaguer, from the Pla de Beret to Alós, “Noguera to Alós, all playful”, making a circular route in 4×4.

In 1882, Verdaguer embarked on his first adventure to the Pallars, a place to go to La Maladeta (Aneto).

What had been lost to Verdaguer in Aneto? What do you find along the way? What captivates you? How do you see the territory? Later he returned to the Alt Pallars, later he wrote the poem Canigó, one of the main works of Catalan literature.

In this excursion we will discover the garden that captivated Verdaguer and that later will form part of Cant VII of Canigó, in the Desencís, Noguera and Garona. So we will leave Sort, following the C-13 road that runs parallel to the Noguera Pallaresa, a championship river. Along the way we will be able to discover a historical river, of great beauty, productive, playful and sporty that has inspired poems and songs, at the same time as its waters and those of its tributaries have illuminated Catalonia! On the way to Montgarri we will have time to discover other aspects of these cross-border mountains full of history. We will stop in Montgarri to visit the Sanctuary and stretch our legs and move to the Pla de Beret, at the source of the Campionat river, the Noguera Pallaresa, where we will take the road back through the Port de la Bonaigua.
