the great 4×4 crossing of the national park

The Great Crossing in 4×4, of the National Park, is one of the longest panoramic routes we can do in the region of Pallars Sobirà (one of the largest in Catalonia), which will take us from La Vall d’Àssua to the Valls d’Àneu, through the mountains.

We will pass through the villages of La Bastida, Altron, Sorre and Llessui, until we climb the mountain of Llessui, where thousands of sheep, cows and horses graze, we will stand at the foot of the imposing summit of Montsent de Pallars, a track that runs for about 25 km, at about 2,000 m. high, and it becomes a great lookout.

We will pass through the Clot de Mainera, the starting point of the route to the lakes of Mainera, following the slope of the summit of Montorroio. that together with the Montsent are “the two watchmen of La Vall d’Àssua” … Planning for about 25 km we will enjoy magnificent panoramic views, as if we were on a hill but with the comfort of going with a 6-seater 4×4 vehicle, until you reach the Espot Ski station, from where you will be losing altitude to the picturesque village of Espot, the main entrance to the Aigüestortes National Park and the Sant Maurici lake. the Valls d’Àneu. Back we will have left the tracks and paths that lead us to other valleys and municipalities, such as in the Vall Fosca or La Vall de Baiasca.

We will return by the C-13 road that borders the La Noguera Pallaresa river and which we take at the height of La Torrassa reservoir. We will leave the villages of Escaló behind with its closed town and the monastery of Sant Pere de Burgal; Llavorsí, one of the main adventure sports resorts in the country and Rialp to return to Sort, after having traveled a good part of this river and mountain territory, with a unique culture and nature as we will tell you throughout. the route, accompanied by a local guide interpreting the National Park.

A must for lovers of the great panoramas!
